Ecco game genie

This effect starts on the second FB. Each code will be separated by a blank line, so any codes that are grouped should be entered together. Each code should also have a line after it giving the email address of who submitted the code. Also, any codes that are preceded by a question mark indicate that I have no idea if this code works or not. If there is no question mark, someone has indicated that it works on his particular system. This doesn't mean it will work on yours however.

If a code works for you, be sure to tell me, so I can remove the question mark. All names are case sensitive. Spaces will be replaced with underlines. With codes that have multiple codes in them, seperate each code with a space. Only the file name is acceptable in a send command. Do not include the size or date. Spaces will not be replaced, so be sure to supply a valid filename. Remember, it is also case sensitive!

Only the names returned by index will be valid. This is provided so that the occasional lost soul whose signature contains a line that looks like a command can still use the server without getting a bogus response. The server interprets the subject line of the message.

Thanks to the people of "The Gshi" for hosting one of the best and clean databases of cheats over the internet. And for taking good care of my codes. Thanks to Gamefaqs for also host this file. Thanks to Neoseeker for also host this file. I will stay in the forums, so you can ask there or make your requests. History [ Unnecesary codes deleted. Mayor file clean up. New sections added. Lot more new codes important games missed. Added a good invincibility for Gunstar Heroes. Added a good infinite energy for X-Perts. Fixed a little the codes section. Not holding my breath, though heh.

Well, I haven't played it long enough to really see how hard it is, but I know it's "one of those games. IMO it's like doing taxes, yes I can do my taxes, doesn't mean it's fun. Any game that has a mandatory gameplay path that doesn't readily present itself is bullshit.

To me, Tides of Time really swims ahead as the best Ecco game. I have only played the Sega CD version and I love it! My favorite Sega CD game of all time. I hope the cartridge works again, in the original post. If there are problems with the game genie, then you could alternately choose to try the codes in the game itself, which can grant invincibility, level select, etc. I think both games are quite difficult, and the codes will let you see all of the beauty throughout the games!

Some stages seem next to impossible, even using codes. For example, in Tides of Time, that stage which has Ecco turn into a bird, only to fly a little bit and then get killed by pterodactyls and falling rocks!

I have a lot of respect for folks who played through these games without any codes, because it must have taken ages of dedication!!!!!!!!! First version I ever played was the SMS version oddly enough, among a few games my uncle got with an SMS II he somehow ended up with, pretty nice looking game for both consoles.

Interesting that the SMS version has the digitized playback of the dolphin cry at the title screen, but Genesis doesn't. Right on. Most of the consoles out right now have very little to offer me, but that's starting to change with all of the classic titles getting revisions and upgrades. I'm hoping that the new Sonic HD it's gonna be a direct download game, right?

Not to mention a Streets of Rage IV with like, online co-op. How sweet would that be. Well, I do like the presentation and the concept.

The ominous atmosphere does a lot for the game, the intro level alone made me want to like it. But I have to agree with Christusloeser about the level design and poor hit detection.

The game gets very tedious very quickly. I think Tides of Time fixes some of the games' problems, and is even more visually impressive, but ends up being pretty boring in the second half of the game the quest for the endless DNA string and the last level isn't as memorable. Ecco's not for everyone, I'll give you that. The confusion with the puzzles and slow pace will turn a lot of people off.

Other than that, it's a really impressive game. I liked the cart music more. Their mistake I think was the really boring and hard initial levels of the first one. A mistake they corrected in the second one, thankfully. Oh yeah, Ecco is relentless. Right off the bat it sends you into deep caves with little air.

And yet the game still manages to get even tougher. I really liked Ecco's puzzle solving, navigation through underwater mazes, and keeping an eye on Ecco's air at all times. It was really tough, sometimes painful. But I liked its challenge and its unique gameplay. However, the biggest draw for me was the atmosphere this game had. I'm fairly certain the people who made this game were very influenced by Pink Floyd, and I LOVE Pink Floyd:D All throughout the game, there's a definite ominous, desolate, and even creepy atmosphere that the game gives off, and the music at least on the cart, haven't played CD definitely enhances the mood.

Listening to that music while exploring places like the "City of Forever" and finding out through glyphs about the lost civilization of Atlantis put me in the same mindframe that kicking back and listening to Pink Floyd generally does. I thought it was amazing. I could also just be crazy :p I really think the game is underrated, but I definitely agree that it's not for everyone. However, what I really hate are how I've seen some people not on this forum that write this game off as a relaxing trip through the ocean, or a "dolphin simulator.

Have they ever seen the Vortex Queen?! In the first Ecco there's a level called Welcome to the Machine, and in the second if you're playing on Hard mode, at least there's one called The New Machine.

I thought that was pretty awesome, even though I'm not as big of a fan of Floyd as I used to be. If I'd played the games back when I was a freshman in High School, though, I would have thought that was the coolest thing ever! I really think the game is underrated, but I definitely agree that it's not for everyone. Heh, I know what you mean.

Saying that Ecco is a dolphin sim is like claiming Super Mario Bros. I gave the SMS version a decent shot, but I have to say the lack of direction gave me plenty of opportunity to turn the game off and plop in something new. I made it to the third level and then just put the game away.

I think I admire the game more than I enjoy it - that opening level where you just have to figure out on your own how to do that massive jump that kicks everything into gear took me like 20 minutes! It was cool, though, to just start the game in this large pocket in the ocean, just to roam around freely. It was like Shenmue with fins. In time I'm looking forward to giving it a better shot, especially on the Sega CD with the redbook audio.

I think the "dolphin sim" comments stem from the fact that yeah, you can just swim around and take in all the lush underwater scenery. The Dreamcast game is equally beautiful in that respect too. I don't think I ever saw a more beautiful game on the system than Defender of the Future. Whatever became of Appaloosa Interactive?

It has a Tangerine Dream kind of sound to it, blending surreal atmospherics with lush synthetic non-melodies. Same thing as the first game, though, you just wander around the cove trying to figure out what the hell to do! These are ballsy games of non-direction, I tell you! I thought the SMS one was pretty good, the control is a bit funky though with the 3rd action controlled by pusing both buttons simultaneously, but it's OK.

I don't think the game is overrated, but it's not really my type of game. For whatever that means. They returned to the water for that poorly received cross platform JAWS game and haven't done anything since. Probably another victim of the recession. Funny, totally off base claim on the Ecco the Dolphin Wikipedia page: According to Nintendo Official Magazine, the Ecco the Dolphin series is the only Sega game series to have sold more copies than the famed Sonic the Hedgehog series.

I find that hard to believe even if just looking at individual games or a certain time period or anything. Ecco was more a flash in the pan during the eco-friendly Free Willy uprising in the nineties and after that fad had passed, so did interest. The Dreamcast game was all but ignored compare sales of that to Sonic Adventure, first off , while Sonic continues to thrive in lackluster games that always hit their 1 million sold.

I played the Sega-CD pack-in to death, but it was never very enjoyable and I was turned off enough never to play any 2D Ecco games ever again. The first one TBH didn't hold my interest either. Well I loved Ecco 2, and I went back and trudged through Ecco 1.

Ecco 1 picks up after the ice levels. But up to, and through the ice levels, that game is so boring I like Ecco. But I did have access to magazine walkthroughs when it was new Also, "the machine". Like someone said, it's really atmospheric - huge, lonely and creepy. The music definitely helps as well I prefer the cart music, but I've not heard the CD ost much, maybe it'd grow on me. Tides of Time's good as well apart from the sky tunnel things.

They don't translate well to 8-bit at all, though.
